3.      Anup bought a book for Rs.41.63 and a packet of pencils for Rs.16.50. He gave the shopkeeper a 100- rupee note. How much money did she receive back?

Answer:

           Cost of book =             Rs. 41.63

        Cost of pencils=               Rs.16.50

Total money spent=                Rs.58.13

Now,

Money Anup gave to the shopkeeper =        Rs.100.00

                       Total money Anup spent         =          Rs.   58.13

                       Money He received back =      Rs.   41.87

Hence, Anup received Rs.41.87 back from the shopkeeper.
